SASSA November 2026 payments start on 30 October: revised dates
Older Persons Grants begin on 30 October 2026, Disability Grants on 2 November and Children’s Grants on 3 November. Check the separate review arrangements.
SASSA’s November payment cycle begins on Friday, 30 October 2026, for Older Persons Grants. Disability Grants follow on Monday, 2 November, and Children’s Grants on Tuesday, 3 November.
The dates were brought forward for the 4 November local government elections. Government news agency SAnews confirmed SASSA’s revised schedule on 15 October.

Why does the November cycle begin in October?
The 30 October date belongs to the November cycle. SASSA adjusted the timetable to minimise disruption around election day, with National Treasury’s approval following stakeholder consultations.
The original 2026/27 calendar published by Social Development had listed 3 November for older persons, 4 November for disability and 5 November for children’s grants. Those November dates have been superseded by the revised schedule above.
Who is the 5 November date for?
It is reserved for beneficiaries whose grants are in the review process. It is not an extra payment date for everyone receiving a grant.
SASSA spokesperson Andile Tshona said payment depended on eligibility being confirmed, Jacaranda FM reported on 28 October. Affected beneficiaries should respond to official communication and attend review appointments when asked.
What should SRD recipients check?
SRD recipients should check their individual monthly payment status through the official Social Relief of Distress portal. The Older Persons, Disability and Children’s Grant dates above should not be used as an SRD payment timetable.
Are December’s dates changing?
Tshona said the adjustment applied only to November and that December 2026 to March 2027 dates remained unchanged, according to Jacaranda’s report.
The published December calendar lists Older Persons Grants on 2 December, Disability Grants on 3 December and Children’s Grants on 4 December 2026.

Use SASSA’s official website for agency notices and its SRD portal for SRD status. SASSA’s contact page lists 0800 60 10 11 for enquiries.
Check the month and date on any calendar before arranging collection, and follow any official instructions relating to a grant review.
