TPR separates confirmed rules and official records from allegations, complaints and material that still needs context.

Verification rule
A complaint is not a finding, an arrest is not a conviction, and an unidentified clip is not proof of the claim attached to it. Preserve the original source, place, time and full sequence.
Officially acknowledged report, investigation open
eThekwini unused-ballot and stamp theft
The IEC says it received a report that unused ballot papers and a stamp were stolen in eThekwini. It says a SAPS case was opened, the investigation is under way and precautionary measures were taken so the material cannot be used unlawfully. This does not establish that a fraudulent vote was cast.
Old footage can be presented as current election incidents
SAnews reports a 4 November Limpopo police warning against recycled videos and photographs being labelled as current election incidents. The warning does not identify every circulating clip as false. Check the place, date, original upload and full sequence before sharing.
Check ballot-template numbering with the presiding officer
SAnews reports that the IEC has asked presiding officers to explain where the first column of a double-column ballot ends when helping visually impaired voters use a Universal Ballot Template. The template’s numbering can differ from a ballot with fewer than 80 candidates. Ask the presiding officer for guidance on the layout before marking your choice.
Election Day political activity: check the station boundary
The IEC clarification reported by SAnews distinguishes prohibited campaigning inside station boundaries from activity outside them. Political meetings, marches and demonstrations remain prohibited on voting day. Do not treat every party-coloured shirt or activity outside a station as proof of an offence.
Special-vote envelope clips require the custody procedure
Handling of special-vote envelopes before counting must be assessed against the published custody process. A clip without place, time and full sequence does not establish fraud.
Send the original link or document, where and when it was recorded, and the precise claim you want checked. Avoid publishing another person’s identity document, banking information or private voter information.
