Coverage and review notes

23 696 station records · 4 485 wards in the boundary source.

  • 23696 unique eight-digit voting-district/station codes join to 4485 official ward IDs in 213 local and metropolitan municipalities. Electoral WardID is used for ballot links. A station map pin is not used to infer a voter's ward.
  • The district layer has 658 zero spatial ward numbers and 1099 other disagreements with its own electoral WardId. Those spatial ward numbers are not substituted for the electoral assignment.
  • MDB is acknowledged as producer and custodian of the ward boundaries. The station and district item metadata do not supply a reuse licence; confirm the applicable IEC/MDB terms before public release.
  • The Nelson Mandela Bay list published on 2026-08-14 cross-checks 268 unique station codes, with 0 ward disagreements. Its 269 table rows include 1 repeated code row. This regional check does not certify national venue freshness.
  • National IEC reconciliation: all 23696 codes and electoral WardIDs agree with the published national list. Names/addresses use that list; two clipped PDF addresses retain complete MDB text.
  • Mobile timetables: 32 routes and 70 stops. One source closing time is invalid and one venue name is truncated; both remain explicit. No representative mobile pin is published.
  • Ward inventory: the May layer has 4,488 rows including FS164 wards 1–5; the later 4,485-row layer instead includes FS162 wards 8–9. Current station and candidate inventories agree with the latter. No legal cause is inferred.
  • Reuse rights, later IEC corrections and field verification of map pins remain production release checks. The timetable has 32 routes; a later headline quoting 33 does not supply an additional identifiable route.
