Elyas article updated for termination and interim court ruling
The 9 September analysis has been revised to include the DA’s subsequent membership termination and the Western Cape High Court’s 2 November refusal of interim relief. Its earlier present-tense account of his position and unanswered disciplinary consequences is superseded. The final Part B review was not determined by that ruling. The original publication date is preserved and the article carries a visible update note.

Clickable source references in archive articles
Plain-text web addresses in source-reference lists have been made clickable. The affected Constitutional Court story contained eleven such references. The linked addresses and the article’s reporting are retained. Publication records now label the original publication timestamp and any recorded update timestamp in South African time.
